Man arrested for taking pictures of young boys in public restroom

Brownsville police arrested a man for taking pictures of two young boys while they were using a public restroom.

On Wednesday, September 2nd, at around 11:40 a.m., police were called to a store, located on the 400 block of E. Morrison, in reference to a man being detained by a Loss Prevention Officer.

It was reported by a witness that he and two young special needs boys had entered the restrooms and came into contact with Anthony Rene Garcia, 42, who used his phone to photograph the two boys as they were in the restroom.

The officer asked Garcia for consent to view his phone where images of the two boys and the witness were found.

Garcia was arrested, charged with improper photography or visual recording and handed a bond totaling $15,000 dollars.
