Local Tejano Musician To Hold Benefit Concert For Hurricane Victims

Local News

Local Tejano star Veronique Medrano was recently nominated for the Tejano Music Awards.

While the young artist should be celebrating, she put her music projects on hold for a cause very dear to her heart. After seeing videos of her fans from across the Texas coast suffering from the impact of Hurricane Harvey.

Veronique Medrano, “I couldn’t sit and do nothing and of course me I wanted to rush out there I wanted to go out there and help them because their family that’s really the major thing is that my fans are like my family they’re my extended family when I’m on the road and I can’t be with my family and so to have them going through what they’re going through and not put everything aside and go out there was heartbreaking for me I was like I just want to go but I have to find a different way I had to.”

Medrano is putting together an online benefit concert via Facebook Live to raise funds for the Houston Food Bank. The Tejano star recruited artists from Columbia to California, including several from Houston.

The online event starts Wednesday, September 6 with a link to donate at the top of the live video.
