Local Justice of the Peace celebrates Valentine’s Day with free weddings

MISSION, Texas – On this Valentine’s Day love is certainly in the air in the city of Mission. With dozens of couples taking the plunge and getting married.

Today several precincts throughout Hidalgo County were offering free Valentine’s Day weddings. Justice of Peace for Precinct 3 Place 2, J.J. Peña who officiated the ceremonies says at least 30 couples registered for the event.

Local 23’s cameras were rolling as some, understandably nervous, couples said I DO.

Victoria Zuniga & Alfredo Ybarra, newlyweds, “I can just say thank you, nothing more and I want everyone to know that we are happy and content and we will always be together forever.”

This is the second year that Justice J.J. Peña has hosted the free Valentine’s Day wedding event.
