A follow-up to a story News Center 23 reported yesterday.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission prepared a draft environmental impact statement for the Rio Grande LNG project, concluding that the project would not have a significant level impact on the environment.
A representative of the company said, “The draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the Rio Grande LNG project, issued by FERC, represents a culmination of several years of analysis and evaluation in conjunction with a dozen federal, state, and local agencies, stakeholders and the public. Publication of the draft EIS by FERC is a significant milestone that moves the project, which will create thousands of jobs for the Rio Grande Valley, towards permitting and construction.”
FERC’s final environmental impact statement will be published on April 26, 2019.
