Lawmaker excited in Medical Marijuana bill’s progress

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A valley lawmaker excited about progress in a bill that would make medical marijuana legal in Texas. Last week testimony was heard and recorded for HB 1365, also known as the ‘Compassionate Use Act’. The bill looks to allow medical cannabis for medical use by patients with certain debilitating medical conditions.

State Representative Eddie Lucio III (D) District 38, “We have a tremendous opportunity this session to help people that are in tremendous pain, that are not only cope with the pain, but to feel well enough to start being able to seek better treatments.”

Representative Lucio filled HB 1365 in February of this year. It is now pending review in subcommittee.
