Judge Drops Charges For Schlitterbahn Co-Owner

Local News

Last spring co-owner Jeff Henry was arrested in South Padre Island in connection to the death of a 10-year-old boy killed at a waterpark in Kansas City.

10-year-old Caleb Schwab was decapitated on the Schlitterbahn water slide.

Now, nearly two and a half years after his death, a judge dropped charges against co-owner Jeff Henry, the water slide designer, and a former park manager.

The defendants faced second-degree murder, aggravated child endangerment, and aggravated battery charges.

The judge dismissed those charges citing improper evidence, and saying the defendants were not afforded due process protections.

The judge also dismissed an involuntary manslaughter charge against the park’s operations manager.
