Juan Gabriel Tribute Concert

Local News

Fans of the late Mexican singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel are celebrating the life, music, and contributions of the iconic artist tonight in the city of Hidalgo. The stage is almost set for the artists that will be performing tonight in this free tribute concert for the late Mexican icon.

Fans of the ‘Divo de Juarez’ are encouraged to bring all their family and friends to give a last farewell to the singer along with thousands of other people who enjoyed his music. Tonight’s event will feature  musical performances by folklorico groups, the Hidalgo and Valley View ISD Mariachis, the award winning Mariachi 7 Leguas, and other local artists.

Shalimar Madrigal, Director of Marketing and Media Relations for the city of Hidalgo says, “This is going to be, I think, the last opportunity that people have to come together in this way, around his music, here locally, and really offer a final farewell to an amazing musician and incredibly gifted song writer. It’s good to have fellowship and community with other people who feel the same way that you do and love the same things you love. So if you love music and you love Juan Gabriel, come on out tonight because it’s going to be a special evening.”

Juan Gabriel performed right here at the StateFarm Arena six different times, and managed to sell out all of his shows. He was scheduled to perform again on September 22nd, and even that show was close to selling out. For tonight’s event, doors will open in less than an hour, but the first performance will begin at 6:30 PM.
