International ferry crossing reopens

Local News

MISSION, Texas — The Los Ebanos International Ferry crossing re-opens after being closed for two months. Customs and Border Protection announced the ferry’s temporary closure in early April. It was due to high water levels caused by the Mexican government’s reservoirs. Ferry operators deemed it unsafe to utilize the ferry under severe conditions, blocking off access to vehicles and pedestrians. Today, CBP officials say although water levels are still not low, the ferry is fully operating.
