BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Federal agents continue transporting undocumented immigrants to shelters throughout the Rio Grande Valley. The Good Neighbor Settlement House in downtown Brownsville has been receiving dozens of immigrants daily. The shelter is asking the community for help.
Belinda Bradford, assistant director, “Right now our needs are undergarments. We have been receiving a lot of clothes. We stopped receiving clothes at this moment but we don’t have any undergarments for women and the children. We need underwear, socks for the men the same thing underwear and socks. For women we do need bras and underwear for them.”
The Good Neighbor Settlement House is also asking for snack bags, including juice boxes, boxes of individual chips, animal crackers, granola bars, peanut butter crackers, pretzels, and fruit gummy snacks. As well as tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, apples, and powdered tea.
