RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas - Two immigrant fathers shared their story as they were finally reunited with their children.
The two men were reunited at an Ice detention facility last night at around 8:30 p.m. House officials say one dad was held at a facility in Florence, Arizona, while the other was held in Pearson, Texas.
One father said he could only talk to his son three times in the past three months.
Pablo Ortiz: "He couldn't say anything either. I would talk to him and ask 'son, how are you?' and all he would tell me is 'dad, dad, I want to go with you.'"
House officials say about 1400 parents are still locked in ice detention centers after failing Tuesday's deadline to reunite children under five with their parents. The Federal government says that as of Tuesday's deadline, only 38 out of 102 children under five were returned to their parents.
