House Party Murder Trial Continues

Local News

Trial continues in the murder of 32-year-old Byron Pineda.

Now 19-year old Frank Alan Taylor III, visits the 138th Cameron County District Court where he is accused of murder. Taylor is believed to have shot Pineda in the back after a confrontation in a house party in Harlingen.

On April 25, 2018, we saw several witnesses take the stand, among them:

  • Crystal Rae Ramos, the tenant of the apartment where the incident took place.
  • Lorraine Camero, The person who invited Taylor to the party.
  • Isis Rene Rivera, Pineda’s then Girlfriend.

From what we’re hearing in court there was 7 people involved, 4 females and 3 males, that met at an apartment in Harlingen on the late night of January 19th, into early January 20, 2016.

According to Ramos, Taylor’s male friend, Albert Alexander Hernandez, was involved in a fight with Pineda.

The defense was questioning Ramos’ inconsistencies with her initial statements and what was said in court on April 25th. In addition, the defense attorney mentions the consumption of drugs or alcohol by the witnesses during the night of the incident.

News Center 23 found that on January 20th,   Stephanie Lee Lopez, Crystal Rae Ramos, Lorraine Camero, Isis Rene Rivera, and Albert Alexander Hernandez were charged with failing to report the felony. This means they did not call 9-1-1 upon the death of Pineda.

We’ll bring you more details on the case as they become available.
