EDINBURG, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley arrested a homicide suspect and a sex offender.
On Wednesday, agents from the McAllen station arrested a Mexican national near Havana, Texas, who entered the United States illegally. Record checks revealed an active felony warrant for homicide in Mexico.
Later that night, McAllen agents arrested a Mexican national after he illegally entered the United States near Abram, Texas. During processing, record checks revealed he had been arrested by the Knoxville, Tennessee Police Department for solicitation and attempted sexual battery. He was convicted on both charges and sentenced to 11 months and 29 days confinement.
The Border Patrol is processing the subjects accordingly.
