Hidalgo County Bailiff Facing DWI Charge

Local News

A Hidalgo County bailiff is facing a charge of Driving While Intoxicated after being pulled over late last month. 40-year-old Carlos Perez was formally arraigned at the Edinburg Municipal Court.

In addition to his DWI charge, Perez was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Police arrested the county employee on December 21. But he avoided a trip to the county jail after Municipal Judge Terry Palacios made a call to have him released. During the arraignment Judge Palacios issued a $5,000 personal recognizance bond for each charge.
