Harlingen Police Department Makes Large Donation To Combat Child Abuse

Local News

The Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Center, also known as Monica & Maggie’s House, was presented with a check for $8,000 on Wednesday, August 1.

The check came from the Harlingen Police Department who raised the funds during the 3rd Annual Monica & Maggie’s House IBCA BBQ Cook-Off held on June 30.

The mission of the non-profit center is to advocate for and serve child victims of abuse through prevention, intervention, and treatment.

The Check presentation was done during the regularly scheduled meeting of the Harlingen City Commission who applauded the center and its staff for its commitment to the children in our community.

Harlingen Police Chief, Jeffry Adickes also recognized all of the Cook-Off sponsors and presented them with a plaque as a symbol of gratitude.
