H-E-B Issues Voluntary Precautionary Recall For Single Serving Soups

TEXAS - Mann Packing of Salinas, Calif. in accordance with H-E-B announced that it has issued a voluntary recall for certain H-E-B single-serving soups made with vegetable products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. As part of a larger recall affecting several retailers, Mann Packing recalled affected vegetable products on Oct. 19, which were supplied to H-E-B and used in H-E-B Asian Noodle Soup Cups Beef and Chicken.  

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
