H-E-B Honors First Responders With Fajita Cook-Off

Today McAllen Firefighters are being appreciated and honored with a Fajita cook-off.

H-E-B partnered with Helping Heroes to put up today‚Äôs festivities for the 14th straight year. Helping Heroes honors local heroes who everyday put their lives on the line to protect the community.

Firefighters enjoyed a Fajita meal complements of H-E-B. For the 4th year they participated in a Fajita cooking contest where grill masters from different stations competed for bragging rights.

Yvonne Loflin, H-E-B Public Affairs Office, “It’s so important to honor them because they do so much for our community all year round. This is just our way of giving back to them, especially recently with all the floods and all the situations, they really came out to show us what they are made of and we appreciate them.”

Firefighters also enjoying all their favorite H-E-B products as the organization stuffed their pantries full of food.
