LA GRULLA, Texas - As we celebrate National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, H-E-B is challenging students to be a buddy not a bully.
This week H-E-B partners visited more than 300 elementary school classrooms to promote the importance of kindness and respect over behaviors like teasing and bullying. They say the earlier students learn the dangers of bullying, the less likely they will act on those negative behaviors.
Yaritza Almaguer, Diversity Champion H-E-B said, "Were huge supporters of education. As part of our diversity program we want children to learn respect and kindness. That's the message that we hope that we get across."
Students at La Grulla Elementary seemed excited for this presentation and hope they will return next year.
