Former Police Officers Being Sued For Using Excessive Force

Local News

Two former McAllen Police officers caught using excessive force on camera are now being sued.

The lawsuit stems from the May 2016 arrest of Aaron Soto. He was pulled over for allegedly driving while intoxicated. In the video the plaintiff is seen spitting at Officer Luis Zuñiga as Soto sits down in the squad car. That’s when Zuñiga pulls Soto back out and throws him to the ground. Officer Ulysses Bautista is seen kicking Soto in the face.

The victim is seeking $750,000 in medical damages because of the assault.
