First Day of School for Brownsville ISD, Educators Offer Advice to Parents

Today marks the first day of school at the Brownsville Independent School District. Nearly 50,000 children are expected back in class. For some parents that means a laundry list of supplies and perhaps even increased anxiety.

Local schools say what parents can expect on this first day of school. 

Michael Moreno, Principal – Perez Elementary, “We always recommend that parents come in to get to know their teachers. To stay engaged during the whole school year, because we’ll have various activities that will be of interest to all our parents.

Principal Moreno also recommends you visit your child’s school website for updates on upcoming events.
