A ‘Filing Frenzy’ for local Democrats

EDINBURG, Texas – This past weekend the Hidalgo County Democratic Party hosted a party dubbed the “Filling Frenzy.”

November 9th marked the first day for candidates who plan to run in the March primaries could file to run. The party was held at Walk-On’s Bistreaux and Bar in Edinburg to make it easier for candidates to file. Hidalgo County Democratic Party Chairwoman Norma Ramirez says the outpouring of support this election cycle has been tremendous. “It’s been exciting, people are happy. They just were anxious to be here. This is something that they have looking forward to. Once they file they are officially on the ballot.”

The Filing Frenzy will end on December 9th as the Democratic party will host “Ballot Bash”, a celebration to the end of the filing period.
