Father/Daughter Murder Suspects Extradited

Local News

A father and daughter accused of killing a Maryland woman are back in the state and facing murder charges after they were caught in the Rio Grande Valley.

Keith and Valeria Smith were extradited back to Maryland Thursday morning from Cameron county.

They’re charged with killing Jacquelyn Smith, Keith Smith’s wife and Valeria’s stepmother.

In December, Smith told police a panhandler stabbed his wife to death in east Baltimore. Police now say that story was not true.

Officers arrested the two earlier this month near Harlingen. A judge has since ordered they be held in jail without bail.
