EXCLUSIVE: Top Investigator Crashes Into Livestock Fence, Here’s the evidence that busted him

Local News

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Cameron County District Attorney Investigators Manuel Cisneros was arrested Wednesday as part of a driving while intoxicated investigation.

Local 23’s Derick Garcia has confirmed Cisneros allegedly crashed a 2016 Kia Soul through a hay barrels and barbed wire and wooden fence used to hold livestock at a property on Smith Drive in Brownsville.

The Kia Soul is a county owned vehicle and heavily damaged according to the property owner who declined to speak on camera. Across his property were splintered wood and pieces of the county vehicle.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesperson Sgt. Maria Montalvo and the property owner confirmed, troopers tracked down Cisneros because in the wreckage was the license plate to the KIA Soul.

Dash cam and body cam video has been requested along with a crash report.

Before his arrest, filmed exclusively by Local 23, District Attorney Luis Saenz fired Cisneros.

On Monday, DA Saenz learned of the DPS investigation and released a statement Tuesday writing, “Yesterday at 11:30 am I was informed by DPS that they were conducting a DWI investigation on DA Investigator Manuel Cisneros.  I immediately instructed my Chief Investigator to confirm and corroborate the information.  Upon affirmatively doing so at 1:30 pm, I fired Mr. Manuel Cisneros.  Once DPS completes its’ investigation, it will be turned over to an independent Attorney Pro-Tem for prosecution.  My office will not have anything to do with, or say about, the investigation and prosecution.”
