Disturbance call leads to two being arrested for assaulting an officer

A disturbance call at a local Inn results in the arrest of three people with two being charged for assaulting an officer.

On Sunday, August 2nd, at around 3:45 a.m., police were called to Su Casa Inn, located on the 1800 block of W Tyler Avenue, in reference to a disturbance.

When officers arrived they made contact with a victim who stated that three individuals had kicked open the door to his room and assaulted him with a variety of punches and choking him. The three people were located at the scene and identified as Melvin Andrew Colley, 23, Amanda Lee Mason, 29, and Yahshuv Ben-Israel Williams, 20, with all three showing signs of intoxication.

While Colley was being handcuffed, he assaulted the officer by striking him in the ear with his forehead and also attempting to pulling away. Williams was also charged with assault after he intentionally threw blood into eyes of another officer from a laceration on his arm. Also arrested was Mason after she repeatedly ignored orders to step back  and clear the area.

Colley was charged with burglary habitation, assault of a public servant, resisting arrest and handed a bond totaling $160,000 dollars.

Williams was charged with burglary habitation, assault of a public servant, resisting arrest and handed a bond totaling $150,000 dollars.

Mason was charged with burglary habitation, interfering with public duties and handed a bond totaling $77,000 dollars.
