District Judge Arrested, FBI Remains Tight Lipped

A federal district judge was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

A court hearing will take place on Monday, February 5 at the federal courthouse in McAllen. 93rd District Judge Rudy Delgado was arrested Friday. His attorney Al Alvarez and FBI officials have not said why Delgado was arrested.

On Friday afternoon FBI agents, Texas Rangers, and Texas DPS raided the Hidalgo County 93rd District Court office. Later in the afternoon FBI activity extended to a home in Edinburg that was registered under Delgado’s name.

DPS troopers blocked off the residence when the FBI was conducting the raid. Throughout the evening Texas Rangers and FBI agents were seen going in and out of the house. At one point FBI agents walked out with boxes and loaded them to their vehicles.

FBI officials have not said why the raids were conducted at the courthouse and Delgado’s home. More information on this case is expected to be released on Monday.
