Brownsville Police have released details in an officer-involved shooting.
The shooting took place last Friday on the 100 block of Clara Bennett Drive.
Brownsville Police say the suspect, 24-year-old Chantal Gasca pointed a gun at officers while holding a knife. A spokesperson with the department says, BPD Officers Edna Mata and Gonzalo Rubio fired their weapons after Gasca reportedly ignored several commands to drop her weapon.
Gasca remains at the hospital tonight recovering from gunshot wounds. She is in stable condition and is pending criminal charges.
As protocol, Officer Rubio and Officer Mata have been placed on administrative leave.
The case remains under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
