Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Host Cheer Camp for RGV Youth

Local News

H-E-B and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders held a cheer camp for valley girls. Many young girls learned a dance move or two from the iconic cheerleaders. But among them, was a special group of girls with an inspiring message.

“Seeing the excitement on their face makes any tiredness that we have from traveling or coming back home instantly go away. We can’t wait to go out there and work with them.” Said one Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.

Over 300 children participated in this event. They’re practicing for a pregame show for the RGV Toros. Among these 300 there is an inspiring group with a very positive message.

Danielle Olivarez – Capable Kids Sparks Cheerleader said, “We’re all equal to everybody else, we just do things a little bit differently.”

These are the Capable Kids Sparks, they were the special guests to this event. They’re motto is ‘It’s not about ability or disability, it’s about equality.’

Jennifer, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, “We get to work with girls and encourage them, empower them. Most importantly we want tell them to have fun, to love themselves, and to love the Cowboys.”

Bert Garcia, RGV Toros President, “We’re happy that all kids, disabilities or no disabilities, are able to partake in this and have a good time.

Danielle Olivarez, “We want to be included and we want to be part of a team. We want to be together and have a good time.”

For some it’s a once in a lifetime experience. One that some will cherish for a lifetime.

The girls later preformed their new cheer for the opening game of the RGV Toros professional soccer team.
