Congressman Hinojosa Announces $200,000 Grant to UTRGV

The Congressman announced that the National Science Foundation has awarded UTRGV a grant award in the amount of over $196,000. This award is funded under the direction of Mr. John Breir through the project entitled “Collaborative Research: Mesobot: a robot for investigating the ocean interior.” It will commence on January 1, 2017.

The Collaborative Research:Mesobot: a robot for investigating the ocean interior project is a joint research experiment in which a new and unique robot will be created and tested to explore depths of unprecedented scientific space in our ocean’s mesopelagic, or “midwater,” environment.
