Colleges visit with local high school seniors

Local News

SAN BENITO, Texas – San Benito High School students are getting ready for the next chapter in their education.

Recruitment representatives from Texas State Technical College spoke to seniors about the programs such as welding, automotive, biomedical, engineering and more. Many times, paying for college is a barrier for students. But a representative from TSTC says many students qualify for financial aid.

Adrian Hinojosa, student recruitment representative, “The mission today is to let them know that it is an affordable education. Sometimes it might not even have to come out of their pocket, we do offer a money back guarantee as well in some of our programs.”

Representatives from TSTC were set up along the library with information about their programs. The education coordinator from San Benito High School says the goal of these presentations is to give students the push they need to apply for college.
