Cocaine Bust of 700 Pounds

Local News

Border Patrol officials say drug traffickers tried to smuggle more than 700 pounds of cocaine.

The driver eventually rammed a gate, driving a UTV straight into the river.

Riverine BP units seized 270 bricks of cocaine worth more than $22,000,000.

Agents also found several communication devices, game-cameras and tire deflation devices.

Authorities say the driver, along with other smugglers swam back to Mexico with some of the narcotics.
