City to Celebrate ‘Cinco de Mayo’ a Day Late

Local News

Cinco de Mayo will be celebrated a day late in the city of Harlingen. Mayor Chris Boswell, along with Matamoros city leaders, announced the delayed festivities.

This year Cinco de Mayo lands on a Friday. The city pushed it to Saturday to have more families come out and celebrate.

With the national spotlight on border communities, Mayor Boswell says it’s always been important to celebrate Mexico’s relationship with Harlingen.
