PROGRESO, Texas - A Hidalgo County road will receive a face lift.
Transportation access and mobility along Gonzalez Road in the city of Progreso is set to improve. With a price tag of $480,000 this project involves city and county leaders. The city agreed to pitch in materials while the county will provide the equipment and labor.
Hidalgo County Commissioner PCT 1. David Fuentes said, “Gonzales Road has always been identified as a road that is in dire need of maintenance and upkeep. It has a lot of pot holes and it has become a dangerous situation. People having to veer off the road to try and avoid the potholes.”
The project is expected to be completed in the next three months.
