The Children’s Museum of Brownsville brought China to Texas!
It is the only museum in Texas to feature the traveling China exhibit.
Executive Director Felipe Pena said he wants the Rio Grande Valley to immerse themselves in Asian culture.
The exhibit is 2500 square feet of Chinese culture that showcases unique environments significant to children in China.
It includes timeless traditions, contemporary customs, character education and imaginative play.
“We were eligible for a grant application that allowed us to expose our community to an Asian culture,” Pena said. “We chose Children’s China, which we felt was a great way to expose the families in our area to a culture that we might not see every day.”
A culture educator from China will teach children everything they need to do know about the country, from Confucius to pandas.
The exhibit will have a grand opening June 10 at 1 and will only be in Brownsville until September 15.
