Child exploitation seminar shedding light on abuse, exploring social media as a factor

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas – Valley Baptist Medical hosting their 16th annual Forensic Science Conference at South Padre Island. The conference is aimed at shedding light on child abuse and child exploitation. Those in attendance are nurses, teachers, and social workers learning about ways to prevent child abuse and help those in need. An expert tells us there are many forms of exploitation, with social media playing a key part.

Dr. Stanley Fisch, President – Child Abuse Education Program, “Roping kids into situations that are unhealthy for them. Using social media to entrap children or adults into relationships that are not appropriate and certainly not welcomed.”
