Change of Command Ceremony at Port of Entry

Local News

U.S. Customs and Border Protection welcomes a new port director for the Hidalgo, Pharr, and Anzalduas Port of Entry.

Port Director Carlos Rodriguez assumed his new position this morning. Rodriguez has been part of the CPB family since 1997. Chief Rodriguez says he’s excited for the opportunity to head some of the valley’s busiest international bridges.

“It’s a blessing to be selected, looking forward to working with the community. Working with all of our federal and state partners, and our stake holders. Making sure that we provide that service to our users in all of our three ports of entry . Right now our priority is to get situated. Get to know all of our employees, talk to our employees, and stake holders so we can get a plan of action. Once we have that plan of action we’ll be moving forward with that plan of action.”

Chief Rodriguez says he’s working on several projects at the three ports of entry. He hopes they will come to fruition in the near future.
