CBP Stops Smuggling of Methamphetamine at Brownsville Matamoros International Bridge

Local News

Smugglers continue to use women and children to sneak drugs into the United States. Customs Officers at the Brownsville Matamoros International Bridge stopped a Mexican woman from smuggling about $45,000 worth of methamphetamine.

The little more than two pounds of the narcotics were found hidden under the clothing of a 20 year old woman from Matamoros trying to enter through the pedestrian lane. The narcotics were seized and the woman was handed over to Homeland Security Investigations.
