CBP Officers Apprehend Wanted Persons at Progreso International Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Progreso International Bridge caught two males wanted by the Weslaco Police Department in connection to an armed robbery.


The arrest took place on Friday, Aug. 26, at the Progreso International Bridge when a 19-year-old male United States citizen who resides in Donna, Texas, and a minor 15-year-old male United States citizen who also resides in Donna, Texas, also in the vehicle, attempted entry into the United States, aboard a 1995 black GMC 1500 and were referred to CBP secondary for further examination. During the inspection, the CBP officers ran a routine query of law enforcement databases and discovered that both travelers had active warrants for their arrest.

One of the subjects was identified as Enoc Emmanuel Torres. CBP officers confirmed that both males were the subjects of felony warrants on robbery charges.  The warrants were issued at the request of the Weslaco Police Department.

CBP officers took both males into custody and turned them over to the custody of the Weslaco Police Department.
