Cameron County Communities to Visit Austin

Local News

The city of Brownsville and other Cameron County communities are preparing for a visit to our state capitol. The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce joined by the Harlingen Chamber and other community leaders are planning a ‘Brownsville Day at the Capitol’ in order to make our regional voice be heard as they engage with elected representatives under the 85th Legislative Session.

Melinda Rodriguez, Brownsville Chamber President says, “So we’re very excited about that because we feel that even though we’re separate and distinctive we have several regional issues that are common to all of us and so we want to go there and represent our unified work and make sure that our representatives know what our needs are here, not only in our local community but also here in Cameron County.”

Brownsville Days at the Capitol will be March 7th and 8th of the upcoming legislative year.
