Business Owners Receive Last Warning To Pay Balance

Local News

Business owners in Cameron County received a final in person notice to pay a delinquent debt.

Along with these notices tax warrants were issued by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office to seize property from the delinquent owner business.

Before the actual seize occurred the owners receive a timeframe to make arraignments to pay up.

If the business does not comply at all, collecting the items is the next step.

The items are then sold to pay off the inventory debt the owner may have.

Many of the owners seemed to be confused about this specific tax and pending balance.

The mistake was that they thought this was the same tax as the yearly real estate property tax.

The difference is that this specific tax is only for the items inside of the building.
