A well-known Narco-rapper from Brownsville’s southmost area is shining a light on the Rio Grande Valley.
Carlos Vallejo, AKA “Big Los” is putting a positive spin on our border culture. Big Los has taken Spanish hip-hop and corridos and merging it with what’s known as Narco rap. A breakthrough in the music industry.
“Bosses in Mexico started asking, ‘Hey that’s Big Los, he raps. I want him to do a song for me. How much does he charge?” “First of all, I didn’t want to do that.”
Tonight at 10pm Local 23 News’ Brenda Medina goes on a one-on-one interview with Big Los. He talks about how he landed a feature spot on the major film, “Sicario 2” which depicts the drug war on the U.S./Mexico border.
