The city of Brownsville has a new custom built storm water camera system. Along with finding defects that were previously inaccessible, the system will help the engineering department pin-point potential storm water system issues through GPS locations.
Roxanna Rosas, City of Brownsville Public Information Officer, “It’s a tool that we definitely need. This is going to allow us to create a visual map of our storm water system. It’s going to help us to identify any flooding issues in the future and be able to help us to more precisely pinpoint where the defects in our water system lie.”
The system was acquired thanks to a more than $135,000 grant from the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation.
