Brownsville High School Holds Tribute for Veterans

Local News

A school from the Brownsville Independent School District holds a tribute for local veterans. About 128 cadets from Rivera Early College High School gathered to celebrate American heroes right before Veterans’ Day. It is an annual ceremony for veterans and their families.

Today a small but dedicated group say they’re proud to serve their country.

Andrew Garza, Instructor Rivera High School, “They conduct the entire program. From the color guard to the gifts that are presented to the veterans for what they’ve done for our country. Thank you for service, we honor you today in our ceremony.”

The students took approximately three months to organize this ceremony. In response some of the local veterans said, “Because of all of you today, you gave us a little bit of pride back.”
