Border Patrol Seizes Nearly Half A Ton Of Marijuana

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande City Border Patrol station disrupted a marijuana smuggling attempt. 

On Wednesday afternoon, agents working near Fronton, Texas, spotted several subjects, who illegally entered the United States carrying bundles of narcotics. As agents responded to the area to intercept the group, the smugglers dropped the bundles and fled to Mexico.  A search of the area resulted in the discovery of 70 packages of marijuana. The marijuana weighed over 800 pounds and is worth an estimated $642K.
