Border Patrol seizes drugs

More than $146,000 worth of narcotics are off the streets thanks to Customs and Border Protection. Officers at the Gateway International Bridge intercepted two loads of cocaine and marijuana hidden inside cars trying to be smuggled into the United States.

The first involved a mexican citizen from Matamoros and six packages of cocaine. The second involved another mexican citizen from Valle Hermoso with nearly 88 pounds of marijuana.

The seizures were made possible with the help of k-9 units. The narcotics, vehicles and drivers are now in the hands of Homeland Security Investigaitons.
