RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas – A $4.6 billion border funding bill is heading to the President’s desk.
Today the House approved the Senate version of the bill aimed to address the humanitarian crisis at the border.
The approval comes after Democrats abandoned their efforts to add more protections for migrants.
“But we need to do more, which is work together on a bipartisan basis to discourage people from making that dangerous trip from Central America across Mexico.” Says Senator John Cornyn.
Supporters say the Senate bill will not solve the humanitarian crisis at the border, but it will ease the problem.
