Body Found Near Bentsen State Park Identified

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s has identified the female found on the southern outskirts of Bentsen State Park.

On Saturday, June 24, 2017, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the outskirts of Bentsen State Park, located south of Military Road on Bentsen Palm Drive in rural Mission, in reference to an Equivocal Death Investigation.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene, they met with Texas Parks and Wildlife and U.S. Border Patrol agents whom discovered the body of an unidentified female. A Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace pronounced the victim deceased, and ordered an autopsy. The Major Crimes Unit, and the Crime Scene Specialists responded to the area to continue the investigation and process the scene for evidence, and observed no visible signs of foul play.

The female has been identified as 34 year old Glenda Johona De Leon Molina of Guatemala.The autopsy results ruled the cause of death as heat exhaustion.
