BISD Sees Increase in High School Graduates

As high school graduations across the Rio Grande Valley come to an end, the Brownsville Independent School District saw an increase in the number of students graduating high school.

In 2018 the district had a total of 3,144 students earning their high school diploma, this year, 3,223 graduated.

The Brownsville Independent School District has been tackling the school dropout rate with their annual Walk for Future events.

During the Walk for Future, district personnel including the superintendent, principals and teachers visit students who dropped out at their homes and encourage them to return.
