Bikefest is returning to South Padre Island.
On February 17, 2017 thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts are expected to take to the streets.
This event started in South Padre, but moved to Corpus Christi in 2013.
Event coordinators say historically this festival brings in about $5 to $15 million in one weekend.
SPI Bikefest Rally Coordinator GJ Reyna says, “This is where we originated. We’re going to send a call out to all bikers to come out here and give this new rally a chance. It’s going to be a rally that you’re going to have fun to, and a rally you can bring the whole family to.”
According to the city’s convention and visitor’s bureau director, Bikefest’s decision to move to February is one of the best ways to offset low visitor seasons.
