Beer run ends with truck crashing into home

WESLACO, Texas – On Monday at approximately 10:38 p.m. a DPS Trooper at the intersection of International Blvd and Southmost Road in Brownsville was waved by a clerk from a local Stripes store.

The trooper observed a 2002 Tan Chevrolet Silverado elude the location, and later crash into a house. Two males and one female fled on foot from the crash scene. A search of the Chevrolet revealed two 18 packs of beer and one 12 pack of beer, stolen merchandise from the Stripes store.

25-year-old Kirk Mark Pursifull of Brownsville, the passenger of the Chevrolet, was transported to Carrizalez-Rucker Detention Center where he was booked for theft, public intoxication and for evading arrest or detention.  A female passenger was identified and released.  The driver of the Chevrolet was not located. Occupants of the residence were not injured.
