Barrier that kept Harambe from Humans ruled not to Standard

Local News

New details in the shooting death of Harambe.

According a federal inspection, the Cincinnati Zoo’s barrier to keep humans and zoo animals apart was not in U.S. standards.

For 15 years Harambe’s home was at Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville.

Earlier this year, Harambe was shot and killed by a zoo keeper after a 3 year old boy slipped into the zoo’s gorilla exhibit.

The zoo quickly improved the barrier following the gorilla’s death.
