The Governor of Tamaulipas Egidio Torres Cantu has announced the formation of a special force group made up of state, local and the national defense, whose main purpose will be to combat kidnappings in the city of Matamoros.

During a meeting yesterday with Matamoros Mayor Leticia Salazar it was determined that the high rise of kidnappings in the border city has prompted citizens to voice a concern and let out a cry for help to authorities.

Since Sunday the Special OP Forces have begun operating in seven different sectors of Matamoros.
